1. Online Questionnaire

If you have met with me and received my Attorney ID for the purpose of completing an online bankruptcy questionnaire, you can get to the questionnaire through the following link.  Pleasremember the following points:

  • skip the section asking that you identify your creditors!  We will retrieve that information from your credit reports.
  • disregard the language at the end of the questionnaire asking that you certify everything as complete! The questionnarie is not a legal document and will not be seen by anyone but you and my office. I use it to save us both time and money, and you can go back to it as often as necessary until you have completed it.  No matter how little you have done, go to the end and indicate that it is “complete.”

2. Mandatory Counseling Sessions

As we have discussed during your intake, I facilitate your enrollment and timely completion of the two counseling sessions required for bankruptcy relief under the law.

The first required counseling must be taken BEFORE YOU CAN START YOUR BANKRUPTCY CASE.

If I have set your username and logon, you are ready to take the first required course. If I have not set your username and logon, or if you have any questions, please contact my office immediately, and someone will help you get what you need to start.

When you are ready to start the course, please print this page or otherwise note the following directions and go to the website at

www.freshstartonline.org

Once you logon, go to “My Services” and click “Begin.”

When you are through with the course, you will “return to home page,” and there will be a prompt for you to call and confirm having taken the course. You must make the call to confirm in order to receive the required certificate. Use the toll free number, (866) 662-4932 between 9 am and 10 pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, or from 10 am until 6 pm on Saturday. You can take the course at anytime, but you must call and confirm between these hours at your convenience.

If you have commenced your case and need to take the second course required under the law, login with the same username and password as for the first course.  Go to and take the “Debtor Education Course,” but disregard all references to a textbook, which will be sent by the mail as a reference upon your completion of the course.  Continue until you have no more “next” prompts and return to the homepage, and again there will be a prompt for you to call and confirm having taken the course. As with the first course, you must make the call to confirm in order to receive the required certificate. Use the toll free number, (866) 662-4932 between 9 am and 10 pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, or from 10 am until 6 pm on Saturday. You can take the course at anytime, but you must call and confirm between these hours at your convenience.
